Spectral Archivist

"There is no such thing as documentary."
— Trinh T. Minh-ha

In the Depth of Looking

Every photograph here is a decision: where to stand, what to leave outside the frame, which second to keep and which thousand to let go.
A camera does not record the world — it records a way of looking.
What is housed here, then, is not an image of the world, but the sediment left after the world has passed through one particular consciousness. Mine.

The Researcher's Lens

This practice has a name: spectral archiving — collecting the residual spectrum that daily life discards, the last blue of dusk, the glare of a screen on a wall, the path of rain on glass — and the quieter patterns beneath them: what unfolds under the light, rather than the light itself; how small happenings make a place before any map names it;
how much goes unnoticed because no one has stopped to look.
The tool is a camera; the practice, closer to fieldwork. The work is
simply amplification: enlarging the overlooked until it is seen and felt.

A Confrontation with Silence

The work here does not invite a glance. It invites you to pause, gaze,
and allow a certain silence to unfold between us. If what you find feels strangely familiar, or familiarly strange, then we have already spoken.
